Where is home? The place you were born? The place you are living right now? The place where your family and friends are?
I was born in Mostar. That will always be my home in a way no other place can be. Sometimes I wonder how different my life would be if we stayed there. I have to admit, I am very happy where I am now – in Germany. But, you know what’s funny? I am not really a German here, but I am “the German” in my home country – every year when I visit my family and my hometown in Hercegovina.
What is home to you?
This summer I introduced you to the sea side of Croatia. Here are some impressions of my hometown Mostar. Enjoy.
Mostar is named after the Old Bridge (Stari Most) over Neretva river, the city’s most important attraction. The bridge is used as a magnificent jumping platform at annual competitions. As a traditional tourist sight, boys & men jump off the bridge – but not until they collect enough money from the tourists 🙂
I love love love the refreshing colour of Neretva river.
Mhmmm. Ćevapčići with Ajvar & onions. Have you ever tried? You definitely should!
Unfortunately, the Yugoslavian civil war (1991-1995) is still present in Mostar. You can see a mixture of old and new.

It’s time again. Time for HELP PORTRAIT.
If you don’t know about this yet, here is a little description (and video):
“Help Portrait is a global movement of photographers using their time, gear and expertise to give back to those in need. Founded by celebrity photographer Jeremy Cowart, HP is a community of photographers, coming together across the world, to use their photography skills to give back to their local community. On 10 December 2011, photographers around the world will be grabbing their cameras, finding people in need, and taking their picture.”
(video by my wonderful friend Jasmina Striga)
December 2009 and 2010 we organized Help Portrait in Frankfurt/Germany with help of great photographers, volunteers and friends. This year we will get together again (10.12.2011)! We are still looking for photographers, sponsors, and participants. Do you have an idea which organization could participate this year? Do you want to help? Please feel free to join our community and help help others. Click HERE for my blog post documenting our event last year.
You can find even more information on www.help-portrait.com, our Help Portrait Frankfurt community site, our Facebook Help Portrait Germany page, or just contact me via mail: email@example.com
Would be great to have good people and ideas on board again! Are you in?

This year was the wedding year. Well, I know – I am a wedding photographer. But also surrounded by friends & family who are getting married like crazy this year. There is a song saying: “Došlo vrijeme da se momci žene, stiglo doba da se ljubav proba.” (I guess you should google it.)
Here is Kristina & Leo’s wedding in Zadar (Croatia). Thank you for the beautiful day, party night & crazy dance in the morning hours 😉 Marina, Leo, Luca & parents, you know how much I adore you. Hvaaala lipi moji !

We were working together at the IAA (International Automotive Show in Frankfurt). Handing refreshing water at first, then catalogues for the new Mercedes S-Class. Every morning at 8.30AM the whole crew was dancing to Elvis Presley’s “A little less conversation”. I can tell you, the IAA was a fun, crazy and exhausting experience. And we survived – together 🙂
Sara is a super cute and beautiful young woman. And I was more than happy when she asked for a portrait shooting. It surprised me when she told me that I inspire her to follow her passion and do more interior design consultation. You go girl!
Sara, thank you for being so sweet.
Gorgeous weather beginning of October. Look at these colours!
Favourite location of the day. Loved it.
I love my models. They do everything for me 😉
And now, the slideshow:
