{S+S} Mühltal Wedding

Sweet, fun and beautiful. This wedding was a true highlight of my last wedding season. The colours, style and vibe of the day - just lovely! Guitar music was playing while this charming couple walked out the chapel as husband and wife.

Dear newlyweds, thank you for letting me be part of your day!

The ceremony was held in a tiny little chapel. It was hot & crowded but so much fun!

Have you met Ira?

I definitely needed this photo shoot. The winter is taking too long and I am longing for opportunities to be creative and photograph.

Ira is the winner of the like & win contest I started in order to celebrate my blog birthday (!) She is one of my Facebook followers and we actually studied together. During the photo shooting we were freezing, warming up (in my car), freezing again – but we absolutely had fun!

Ira, thank you for being a topmodel in this extreme shooting situation. Hope you like the results!

Have you met Julian?

Girls. Imagine. You are taking pictures of a very nice guy WHILE he is singing to you. That was new to me and pretty exciting

Julian is a singer-songwriter I met a few months ago at the Sound of Life concert. He has an obsession for guitars like I have for camera lenses – that makes us friends, I guess. Julian was even performing at our Help Portrait Frankfurt event this year. Thank you for your great acoustic performance and a great time at our little portrait session.

Help Portrait Frankfurt 2011

Can photography make the world a better place? My answer is: Yes! And I will add: with HELP PORTRAIT.

We took portraits, we engaged, we listened, we shared food & gave warm clothes, we smiled and danced. We helped to forget the every day problems. I am very happy that this year’s Help Portrait Frankfurt event was (again) very successful & veeery beautiful.

I would like to thank all photographers, make up and hair artists, volunteers, friends & family for making this day an amazing experience – a wonderful day for all of us and for our special models. I am proud of our team and I still can’t believe how many people joined this year! THANK YOU!! Here are some behind the scenes pictures I took during the day.

Yes, we were organized!

What I especially love about Help Portrait? It’s all about being one team. Professional and amateur photographers work together (this year Calvin Hollywood was taking part in our event). But also: photographers become friends!

We are very thankful for our generous sponsors (see complete list in the video). This year we were especially surprised by the restaurant AISO delivering food for us all.day.long! Asian noodles, spring rolls, Sushi…yummy!!

A BIG thank you goes to Julian G and Gastone for their musical support. Amazing!

Snapshot: London, Baby!

Do you know the Friends episode where Joey is overexcited that all of them go to London? (see here) That’s totally how I felt. I was in London - for the very first time.

Our short weekend adventure was all about (crazy) shopping, great food at Jamie’s (I’m a fan, yes), night out at Shoreditch (with early morning chips) and super cool & yummy markets. I’m definitely coming back – to the “world in one city”. For even more coolness, cultures & style!

Mostar

Where is home? The place you were born? The place you are living right now? The place where your family and friends are?

I was born in Mostar. That will always be my home in a way no other place can be. Sometimes I wonder how different my life would be if we stayed there. I have to admit, I am very happy where I am now – in Germany. But, you know what’s funny? I am not really a German here, but I am “the German” in my home country – every year when I visit my family and my hometown in Hercegovina.

What is home to you?

This summer I introduced you to the sea side of Croatia. Here are some impressions of my hometown Mostar. Enjoy.

Mostar is named after the Old Bridge (Stari Most) over Neretva river, the city’s most important attraction. The bridge is used as a magnificent jumping platform at annual competitions. As a traditional tourist sight, boys & men jump off the bridge – but not until they collect enough money from the tourists

I love love love the refreshing colour of Neretva river.

Mhmmm. Ćevapčići with Ajvar & onions. Have you ever tried? You definitely should!

Unfortunately, the Yugoslavian civil war (1991-1995) is still present in Mostar. You can see a mixture of old and new.

Help Portrait 2011

It’s time again. Time for HELP PORTRAIT.

If you don’t know about this yet, here is a little description (and video):

“Help Portrait is a global movement of photographers using their time, gear and expertise to give back to those in need. Founded by celebrity photographer Jeremy Cowart, HP is a community of photographers, coming together across the world, to use their photography skills to give back to their local community. On 10 December 2011, photographers around the world will be grabbing their cameras, finding people in need, and taking their picture.”

December 2009 and 2010 we organized Help Portrait in Frankfurt/Germany with help of great photographers, volunteers and friends. This year we will get together again (10.12.2011)! We are still looking for photographers, sponsors, and participants. Do you have an idea which organization could participate this year? Do you want to help?
